Overcoming
Overcoming is a choice.
This post may hit some the wrong way, but I hope you will take a moment to read and understand what I am saying.
What if the key to walking whole as an overcomer was already sealed before the foundation of the world? What if the ability to overcome was already woven into the very fabric of our genetic DNA code and we just had to decide?
I by no means have the entire Bible memorized end to end, BUT I propose to you that the church and humanity as a whole has placed brokenness as the object of affection and place of worship. Why? Simple. Jesus did not leave people whom he healed, broken. He healed them whole. He did not remain on the cross in a broken state. He rose from the grave three days later. Whole. His disciples made a choice to pick up and leave where they were in life and to follow him. They were constantly in the presence of Jesus. They were not ill, their shoes never worn down, and their resources continued to multiply. The fruit of Jesus continued to multiply. The broken church profits off of broken people. A whole church disciples, equips, sends out, and multiplies whole & healed people.
In fact, Jesus said in John 14:12, “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.”
His expectation was that we would continue to multiply. Jesus did not negotiate with demons. He did not spend hours casting the demons out of people, and He did not highlight the works of the devil. In fact, He did not entertain him. He knew and understood the enemies “MO”. He healed people completely whole with a simple word or statement. The object of His affection was always wholeness. The object of His affection was always overcoming. This is the very essence of God. He is the definition of wholeness.
I was thinking through this for the last several days. Lara Logan recently said something that confirmed what I heard God saying a few days earlier to me. We recently launched our first Summit in Florida in the fight to combat child trafficking. She mentioned that the crowd was not there to be entertained.
I find it interesting that human trafficking has only catapulted in grotesque quantity, and yet there is millions of more dollars being raised to “combat” the issue. Does it make sense that the numbers are only sky rocketing when millions more dollars are being invested to eradicate trafficking? Have the words “human trafficking” become buzz words? Has this become more of an industry of entertainment for the government, NGO’s, elected officials, criminals, and society? Does one system feed the other and vice versa? Are they keeping each other in business? All the while more people (especially children) are walking straight into captivity. Was this the agenda all along?
Sensationalize human trafficking, and dehumanize the victim. Victims and some survivors are set up into a grim scenario when the people that are supposed to help liberate them, imprison them. The fight to end human trafficking has been grossly monetized nearly as horrific as those committing the heinous crimes.
All in the name of what? Another movie, another victim’s life prostituted across the media, and another baby tortured and sacrificed to a demonic altar?!
I use trafficking as an example of the game that two sides play to keep a majority of the people sleeping at the wheel and in captivity. Name the game, and I will show you the poison attached to it.
Our rights and our liberty was endowed to us by our Creator. Not by man. Not by government. Not by criminals. Not by the devil. This means that the government in original design was the people. It still would be if people would wake up and understand they have a voice, have authority, and can absolutely overcome.
Look, there is a time and place for us to process as victims. However, we were never created to stay there. We were made for more. We were made to overcome.
My journey was horrific. I know there are others out there with horrific stories as well. I would propose to you that our story is not over. We have a decision with what we will do with our story. I will not move forward if I stay focused on my past. People are entertained by hearing the stories of trauma and crisis. What if “we the people” were more entertained in deciding our outcome?
We see two political parties working together behind the scenes and giving the illusion that they are enemies. When in fact, they are best buddies.
What if we as American’s realize the authority we have in choosing to walk liberated and as a governing body? What if we decided to agree with the way this country was instituted? The government resides in the people. It is completely Biblical. It says in Isaiah 9:6-7 (paraphrased) that the government (original meaning: ecclesia-called out ones/governing body consisting of its citizens/the people) rests on the shoulder of Jesus. It also says that of the increase of this government there is no end.
America was blessed with a Heavenly governmental mandate wherein the citizens of our country are the prescribed solution. This is the very definition of freedom.
Why then do we stay in a system that is designed broken and to keep us broken? What would happen if “we the people” took our stories and made them our launch pad? What would happen if we decided to overcome?
Merriam-Webster defines “overcomer” as one who succeeds in dealing with or gaining control of some problem or difficulty.
What if “we the people” choose to leave brokenness behind and a system that has set us up for failure to gain control of the problems we face here in America? We could save so many children, the life of the unborn, those in captivity, and our country if we only believed we could overcome.
What if we chose our origin as overcomers and decided we are the legislative citizens that rests on the shoulder of Jesus. He carries the weight. He holds the key.
We surrender brokenness for wholeness.

This is scheduled next month on September 30th, 2023 and will be held virtually (will be recorded in case you need to replay). Humanity innately whether individually &/or corporately seeks identity and origin. We cannot overcome if we do not understand identity & our origin including the opportunity of walking in the fulfillment of our destiny. How are we wired? What is in our DNA that makes us different from the rest of creation? Is Trauma the best that God has for us? Do we have to wait an entire lifetime to be healed?
